Biography

For more than 30 years, Dr. Phillip Tanner has combined disciplined military-medicine training with a warm, patient-centered approach to digestive care. He earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School, completed an internal-medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, and went on to a gastroenterology fellowship with the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC) before joining Western Carolina Digestive Consultants.

Outside the office, Dr. Tanner travels internationally for both leisure and medical missions.
